AMS Flagging

Flags can be generated by artificial intelligence or race control, race control can then alter or cancel flag conditions. Flag conditions, updates and cancellation of flags are instantly displayed via AMS’s  in-vehicle hardware to notify drivers. Race control displays are used to verify flags and where they are applicable.

The AMS system features an automated flagging system to assist race marshals, the key features of this are:

  • All flags are instantly displayed on display hardware installed within vehicles.
  • Flags are either generated automatically via AI decisions or manually via race control.
  • Flags can be cancelled by being overridden by race control at any point during a race.
  • Race control displays are used to confirm when required flags have been transmitted and display which competitors they are
  • applicable to.
  • Confirmation of flag compliance and non-compliance is displayed to race control.
  • Any flag infringements are logged by the system for post-race analysis.

AUTOMATED FLAGGING FUCTIONALITY

NORMAL RACE CONDITIONS.

Displayed in vehicle as solid green OLED panel with text GREEN FLAG or as solid green LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves affected sector or as flag is cancelled.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control for formation lap or automated via vehicle exiting flagged sector during race.

Deactivation: Race control at end of green flag lap, or time based after exiting affected flagged sector.

YELLOW FLAG SINGLE WAVED

DANGER – SLOW DOWN SUFFICIENTLY TO ENSURE FULL CONTROL OF VEHICLE CAN BE MAINTAINED. NO OVERTAKING.
Displayed in vehicle as solid yellow OLED panel with text SINGLE YELLOW or as solid yellow LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves affected sector or as flag is cancelled.

Trigger: Automated trigger from vehicle sensors or manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app.

Automatic Validation: via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

YELLOW FLAG DOUBLE WAVED

GREAT DANGER – SLOW DOWN CONSIDERABLY. BE PREPARED TO CHANGE FROM THE PROJECTED RACING LINE OR TAKE OTHER EVASIVE ATION. STOP IF NECESSARY.

Displayed in vehicle as fast flashing yellow OLED panel with text SINGLE YELLOW or as fast flashing yellow LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves affected sector or as flag is cancelled.

Trigger: Automated trigger from vehicle sensors or manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app .

Automatic Validation: Via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

SLIPPERY SURFACE FLAG

ADVISORY FLAG.

Displayed in vehicle as solid yellow and red striped OLED panel with text SLIPPY SECTOR or as solid yellow and red LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves affected sector or as flag is cancelled.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app

RED FLAG

IMMEDIATELY CEASE DRIVING AT RACING SPEED AND PROCEED SLOWLY, WITHOUT OVERTAKING, AND WITH MAXIMUM CAUTION TO THE PITS OR STARTLINE OBEYING MARSHAL’S INSTRUCTIONS. BE PREPARED TO STOP SHOULD THE TRACK BE BLOCKED

Displayed in vehicle as solid red OLED panel with text RED FLAG or as solid red LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves affected sector or as flag is cancelled.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app.

Automatic Validation: Via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

WHITE FLAG

ADVISORY FLAG.

Displayed in vehicle as flashing white OLED panel with text SLOW VEHICLE or as flashing white LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as vehicle leaves past the slow moving vehicle.

Trigger: Automated trigger from vehicle sensors or manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app.

BLUE FLAG
ADVISORY FLAG.
Displayed in vehicle as solid blue OLED panel with text BLUE FLAG or as solid blue LED’s on light bar.

Trigger: AI algorithm based, AI decides whether the vehicle behind is gaining at such a speed that an overtake is likely. This is simply a be observant of your mirrors indicator.

SAFETY CAR (PHYSICAL)
ALL COMPETITORS MUST FORM A ‘CROCADILE’ BEHIND THE SAFETY CAR WHICH IS TRAVELLING AT A CONSIDERABLY REDUCED PACE. NO OVERTAKING.

SAFETY CAR (PHYSICAL)

Displayed in vehicle as slow flashing purple OLED panel with text SC or as slow flashing purple LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as safety car conditions are cancelled and the safety car crosses pit lane entry line.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control.

Automatic Validation: Via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR
(CODE 60)
COMPETITORS MUST TRAVEL WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT SET BY THE ORGANISERS DURING THE VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR PERIOD. NO OVERTAKING.

VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR
(CODE 60)

Displayed in vehicle as slow flashing purple OLED panel with text SC or as slow flashing purple LED’s on light bar; green flag displayed as virtual safety car conditions are cancelled.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control.

Automatic Validation: via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

BLACK & ORANGE FLAG
RETURN IMMEDIATELY TO THE PITS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RECTIFIED.
Displayed in vehicle as black screen with orange ball in centre on OLED panel with text MECHANICAL FAULT or as flashing blank and orange LED’s on light bar.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control; marshals can request race control trigger via app.

Automatic Validation: Via software in race control to ensure the following has been complied with (parameters can be set for trigger of validation failure).

CHEQUERED
FLAG
Displayed in vehicle as fast flashing white and black chequers OLED panel with no text or as fast scrolling white and black LED’s on light bar.

Trigger: Manual trigger via race control or automated based on race duration.
