Aim MXS Strada – The New Generation Compact TFT Dash Display
The Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display is the evolution of the earlier MXL Strada. It is one of the most widely-spread dashes on tracks and streets all over the world. The MXS Strada is a 5″ color display with great visual impact, configurable to show lap times and all the info coming from the Engine Control Unit, analogue /digital inputs, pre-defined math channels and – optionally – the GPS Module. Its data sampling capability can also be incremented adding up to eight expansion modules.
MXS Strada ECU Connection
Aim systems acquire data from the ECU of your motorcycle . The list of available ECU drivers is constantly updated and upgraded on our support site and are published here. The support site includes over 1,000 different ECU’s both Stock and Racing. They are sorted by manufacturer/bike model and for each ECU you find the proprietary communication protocols, including the standard OBDII ones. From a hardware point of view, Aim systems manage the following data lines:
MXS Strada Analog Digital Inputs
Aim systems analogue inputs are recorded up to 1,000 times per second each. You can connect and monitor all kinds of sensors, like:
- Ratiometric potentiometers
- Pressure sensors
- K-type thermocouples
and many others, all your custom sensors included
Aim systems also feature digital inputs:
- Speed signals – From the ECU, from the GPS and from the wheel sensors.
- RPM – From the ECU or from a digital input connected to a square wave signal (8 to 50 V) or to a low voltage (from 150 to 400 V) of the coil.
- Lap signal – Lap and split times are sampled by the GPS or via optical receiver/transmitter
MXS Strada Second CAN
An innovative Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display feature is its CAN2 line, managing data coming from your additional modules (i.e. ABS, traction control, infrared temperature sensors and more. This feature meets the requirements of a growing number of race drivers as the use of additional modules is becoming quite common in a number of race series.
MXS Strada Math Channels
Aim systems gives you Math Channels values straight away and the dash logger can be configured to display those values (i.e. brake bias, calculated gear) all in real time.
High Contrast TFT Display
The Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display shows with RPM scale, all the data you need, like speed, water temperature and oil pressure, lap times and much more. You can choose the custom pages you wish, including up to four additional fields
A wide library of page styles, defining which data to be shown, their end of scale and measured units. Swapping between pages is quite easy with the Aim MXS Strada using the pushbuttons provided.
Watch Your Data in Pre-Configured Pages
The Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display has a high contrast TFT display and its visual quality is always optimal, as its ambient light sensor keeps the back-light at the best brightness levels. The dash is available in the “Street Icons” version needed by street users (fuel, oil, water temp etc.)
Flexible Shift Lights and Alarms
The ten multicolored RGB shift lights on the MXS Strada can be customized to your liking to define the RPM threshold for each single gear. The same flexibility applies to the configurable RGB alarm LEDs. You can configure them in order to turn them on/off depending on analog or digital inputs, ECU values, expansion values, math channels or, optionally, GPS information. You choose conditions and colors and you can select a solid alarm or flashing one and the flashing frequency. It is also possible to configure an accompanying text message along with the alarm priorities.
With the CAN Output you can send messages directly to an existing CAN network in order to improve the range of vehicle control possibilities.
Two Digital Outputs
Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Displayfeatures a LOW SIDE type (switch to ground) digital output configurable in order to be activated/deactivated depending on the value of the analogue / digital inputs or on impulses coming from your bike ECU. This permits to automatically run external systems, i.e. to switch on/off additional lights, to activate / de-activate a cooling fan or circulation pumps, etc. when a certain event happens.
Switch Input Module
The Switch Input Module is a small compact Sim input device produced by us in the UK which provides a simple way to input voltage signals to the dash. The module allows for connection of lights, left and right indicators, dipped beam, main beam, hazard warning, in fact up to 14 independent voltage inputs, that are then sent to the display or logger through the CAN II stream, allowing you to turn on the symbols or lights on the display.
MXS Strada Connection Examples
Expand The System According To Your Needs
Thanks to the optional GPS058 Module the GPS Manager software, you can immediately get laptimes and all data needed for engine tuning as well as for improving driving technique
It permits to add 4 0-5Volt analog channels for pressure, temperature sensors and potentiometers. Two of these channels can be configured to receive digital inputs like wheel speed.
It adds 4 K thermocouples.
LCU-One Lambda Controller
Wide band Lambda controller LCU-One, with Bosch LSU 4.9 probe, providing all Air/Fuel data, lambda value and exhaust gas temperature, allows to perfectly tune the carburetion.
SmartyCam HD cameras
The on-board cameras that overlays on videos the data sampled by your logger.
Race Studio 3
Aim MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display is to be configured via Race Studio3: you can create, modify, delete, import and export configurations with all channels, ECU drivers, Math channels, Display Pages, Digital output, Alarms, Shift Lights and all the expansions you need.
